Thank you Dean Young . . .

The April, 2005 edition of Poetry contains a poem by Dean Young entitled Son of Fog, and, as a result, I've started a blog.

Too many times out of too many days I see too many people walking in a fog. All day long they have no idea where they're going or how they're going to get there . . . most can't even tell you who they are. Sound familiar? We've all been there. Most of us may still be there. Maybe, instead of calling it there I should call it here. Here because this "fog", for much of our world, is the present reality. I don't mean to be depressing, just real. Because when we decide that it's ok to be real, and live in our own reality, possibly admit that we could be wrong, then we give ourselves a seat on the ground, where there is no fog, and maybe give ourselves a chance to find our way out.

Son of Fog awoke me to fact that on the days when I look into the foggy bathroom mirror in the morning, and can't for the life of me see the person staring back . . . i'm not alone (thank you Dean).

Here will be posted questions, comments, funnies, poems, songs, books, thoughts, musings, and other such "blogables" . . . all the things we humans have in common. I hope that you enjoy, or at least entertain me by pretending you enjoy . . .

i'm just tryin' to turn on a flashlight!!
